Chevrolet Express Passenger Vans offer space, flexibility and uncompromising safety. Twelve-passenger seating is standard on all models and fifteen-passenger seating is also available. All passengers are kept cool by standard front and available rear air conditioning. For power, there is a Vortec 6.0L V8 242kW (324hp) (net) engine with automatic transmission and Tow/Haul mode. Four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and standard StabiliTrakTM help keep Express completely under control.

Express 2500 and 3500 Cargo Vans provide all the cargo space and utility you need. The muscle-bound Vortec 6.0L V8 242kW (324hp) (net) engine and heavy-duty six-speed automatic transmission with Tow/Haul mode provide the power. The vast interior capacity is built to carry tremendous amounts of cargo. And the maximum 1951kg payload capacity, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, standard StabiliTrakTM, and power steering all ensure that even though the work is demanding, the drive isn’t.

It features the superb Vortec 4.8L V8 209kW (280hp) (net) engine, high-capacity payload accommodations, and a strong full-length ladder-type frame. Also sticking to the task at hand: the six-speed automatic transmission with Tow/Haul mode, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, standard StabiliTrakTM and power steering. The independent front suspension is designed to provide a comfortable ride, and the large capacity fuel tank means you can enjoy it for as long as is needed.

1500, 2500 and 3500 regular Cargo Vans have 6787 l of maximum cargo space, while 2500 and 3500 extended wheelbase models have a massive 8053 l.

Disc Brakes with ABS

The standard antilock braking system (ABS) helps maintain steering control during hard braking, while the four vented discs offer impressive braking power. When you apply the brakes, the sensors detect a wheel lock and will quickly release braking pressure, then return braking pressure to normal. This keeps the vehicle from skidding, which keeps you in control at all times.

StabiliTrak^TM - an exclusive engineering marvel

It’s advanced engineering that helps your Express Passenger Van respond more accurately to your steering commands. StabiliTrak^TM uses sensors to read the position of your steering wheel, vehicle speed, brake pressure, lateral acceleration and turning rate to help keep you on track. During normal driving, the system works in the background and continuously monitors steering and vehicle direction. It compares the driver's intended direction to the vehicle's actual direction lateral acceleration vehicle rotation and individual road wheel speeds. Sensors read the position of your steering wheel, vehicle speed, brake pressure, lateral acceleration and turning rate to help keep you on track.

Capabilities

The innovative Tow/Haul mode system gives automatic transmissions a dual–mode shift program. It enhances performance while pulling a trailer or hauling heavy loads. When activated, this feature adjusts the automatic transmission shift schedule and helps reduce throttle pedal activity while travelling over rolling terrain.

The feature raises upshift points to use more of the engine's power for strong acceleration and raises downshift points to help slow your van using engine braking.

Hydra–Matic Transmission

The standard Hydra–Matic^® 6–speed automatic transmission in the Chevrolet Express includes Tap–Up/Tap–Down driver shift control and auto grade braking.
